New Opportunity for Artists: Develop a year-long programme with Arts-in-Mind
Posted on 14 April 2022Towner is seeking a visual artist to work on a year-long programme with members of Arts-in-Mind.
Arts-in-Mind is a group of adults living with mental health conditions, who have been meeting weekly at Towner (some for up to 12 years) to make artwork and support their health and wellbeing.

We are looking for a visual artist who can:
+ Host weekly studio sessions at Towner Eastbourne on Thursday afternoons
+ Support group members in the development of their individual creative practice, bringing in new materials, references, techniques and ideas
+ Make artwork alongside group members, and talk about their own practice and interests
+ Develop collaborative projects with the group
+ Make links with the exhibition programme and Collection when relevant
+ Work with Towner staff and partner organisations to support the needs of current group and welcome new members from our Eastbourne communities
+ Someone who is based in East Sussex or able to commute to Eastbourne regularly
Experience we are looking for:
+ Experience of working with community and/or mental health settings
+ Experience of building relationships with community groups outside of gallery environment
+ Experience of working collaboratively with other artists
+ A knowledge of the social and financial implications surrounding access to the arts
+ A knowledge of safeguarding policies is desirable

Start date: June 2022
Fee: £70 ½ day planning and £140 ½ day delivery = £210 per 3 hour session.
