Winter Community Appeal 2021
Posted on 12 November 2021Can you help provide new creative workshops in Eastbourne’s Shinewater and Seaside community centres?
The most vulnerable in our community continue to be impacted by the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following on from our creative kit bags, we will be offering free creative workshops next spring in Shinewater and Seaside for enjoyment and relaxation. Communities and artists will make new work together: experimenting, getting creative with different materials and learning new skills. We will also be starting new weekly play and making sessions for families with young children in Shinewater and the gallery.
Eastbourne is ranked 312 out of 360 in the UK Prosperity Index, putting it close to the lowest decile in the country. We are focussing on communities in Shinewater and Seaside, the town’s most socio-economically disadvantaged families and individuals who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
Please help us provide free, creative sessions that enable people to develop and express their creativity, to grow in confidence and enjoy a greater sense of wellbeing.
We can only provide free and inclusive access to culture and creative activities with your help. Despite generous support from Eastbourne Borough Council and Arts Council England, we need to raise 60% of our annual budget for exhibitions and creative activities like these.
