Wriggle Room
Ongoing, term-time only
Returning Autumn 2024!
Wriggle Room is an weekly (term-time) artist-led programme developed for under-5s and their carergivers in the gallery and in a community setting.
Activities and workshops are developed collaboratively with participants and partners at Willingdon Trees Community Centre in Hampden Park. The programme explores connection to the natural environment around Eastbourne and East Sussex including seasonal trips into the landscapes around us. We also explore new ways of engaging with Towner Eastbourne’s collection and exhibition programme.
Wriggle Room relaunched Towner's early years programme Spring 2022.

Wriggle Room 2022-2024
From Spring 2022 to Summer 2024, Wriggle Room was led by Visual and Performance artists Katy Beinart and Lydia Hunt. They developed creative sessions for under-5s and their caregivers across Eastbourne inspired by the seasons and habitats that surround us through crafts, storytelling and movement.
You can find out more about their time as Lead artists by visiting Wriggle Room: Open Studio or picking up a copy of Wriggle Room in the South Downs National Park, inspired by our visits into the landscape!
Wriggle Room has previously been delivered in partnership with the South Downs National Park Trust.
