Sense Your Way is a guide for experimental art practice for young people. It is designed to be printed on A4 and can be downloaded and printed in either black and white or colour. It can be used at home or at school, and comes with some notes for teachers and a template powerpoint for use in the classroom.

Over Spring 2021 artist duo Leap Then Look worked at St Catherine’s College, Eastbourne with Year 9 art students.
They introduced new materials and techniques, and asked open questions. Using paper and tape students turned the classroom into a drawing. With paper they made sculptures and used camera devices to make them look like landscapes. With clay and blindfolds, students worked together using touch without sight. For each activity, they asked What did you notice? What did you find? What surprised You? What’s Different?
These ideas were then pulled together into a resource with graphic designers Work-Form, who also worked with the students to design emotive punctuation.
This guide was commissioned by Sussex Learning Network to be usable in both the classroom or home setting to encourage creative activities and their health and wellbeing benefits. The artists have suggested experiments that involve both individual and collaborative practice, and the downloadable guide is really fun.
