Exquizit Creechahz: Costume making workshop with Miss HerNia
The Welcome Building & Eastbourne Winter Garden
Saturday 30 September 2023, 10.00am to 6.00pm, Free (application required)
This workshop is for people who are aged 18 to 30 and LGBTQIA+ identifying. Eastbourne residents will be prioritised, but we can accept booking requests from other regions. We have 15 places, so booking requests do not guaruntee a space.
This workshop is for anyone who might be looking to explore drag, performance art, costume design or just for the fun of it.
During the workshop, Lolly Adams aka Miss HerNia will be using games for participants to generate costumes and characters. You will use a range of materials to create masks or full body pieces to explore movement and performance ideas in a supportive and fun environment.
Miss HerNia will lead a procession around the Devonshire Quarter to showcase your new creechahz to all who are here celebrating the opening weekend of the Turner Prize, which includes the Peaches concert at Eastbourne Winter Garden!
You'll need to bring your own lunch, but food will be provided in the evening between the workshop and concert.
To apply to take part, please send in a booking request using the form linked below.
We will inform you if you have a place by email.

About Miss HerNia
Lolly Adams is a multidisciplinary artist studying at The Royal Academy Schools. She creates alter-egos that play with psychological metaphors and themes of excess, value and humour. Miss HerNia’s performances exorcise shame and rejection into sexy spectacles that celebrate pleasure and chaos while depicting dystopian scenes where the mutant offspring of our throwaway society exist and revel in our ecological disaster. The fatberg princess has performed at Glastonbury, Arts Admin, Battersea Arts Centre and The Bomb Factory. Join the rabble @misshernia
