The Performance Path - Spring Route
1.00pm - 5.00pm Sunday 5 May 2024
The Performance Path is back! This extended Spring Route starts and ends at Holywell Tea Chalet. Passing through the Italian Gardens and Meads, down to the town centre and the Towner gallery, the walk follows the seafront promenade and stretches all the way to the Martello Tower No. 66, before looping back to Holywell Beach. Along the way, local dance artist Yanaëlle Thiran performs short pieces of choreography for you and tells you how Eastbourne and its landmarks inspire her dance practice. Between her performances, you will have plenty of time to talk to other walkers, and perhaps share what the dance movements and accompanying music evoke for you. At the end of the walk, you will be invited to document your own experience of the dances by writing a poem, drawing, or creating a collage of photos. Your response will be added to a colourful collection of notes and sketches created by last year’s walkers.
Free (with donations gratefully received on the day)
