Bearing Witness: Emma Stibbon & Richard Fisher in-conversation
Wednesday 15 May 2024, 6.30pm to 8.00pm
Emma Stibbon and journalist and author Richard Fisher invite you to a conversation discussing the sublime, deep time and how artwork bears witness to changes brought about by climate change.
Fisher contributed an essay The Sublimity of Boundless Landscapes to the recent publication Emma Stibbon: Melting Ice Rising Tides. Fisher’s first book – The Long View – explores the dangers of short-termism, the psychology of time perception, and the personal benefits of long-term thinking (Wildfire/Headline, March 2023).
Stibbon and Fisher will both be available after their talk for a book signing.
Emma Stibbon: Melting Ice | Rising Tides will stay open from 5pm to 6.15pm for talk attendees to view with an exhibition ticket.
This event has been programmed alongside the exhibition Emma Stibbon: Melting Ice | Rising Tides by Towner Eastbourne / University of Brighton and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
