Towner's exhibitions are open until 8:00pm on every first Friday of the month. In August, Friday Late will also include a programme of events.
3:00pm to 5:30pm Circles: drop-in workshops
Drawing on themes found in Maria Amidu’s exhibition: in the perpetual back and forth, artists Anne-Marie Watson and Babalola Yusuf invite you to a series of interactive audio-visual workshops.
5.30pm Dinner service begins at Light
5.30pm to 6.20pm Lifting Concerts: Fiona Hosford plays the harp
Sussex harpist Fiona Hosford will be playing the unconventional venue of Towner’s lift as part of our Friday Late session in August. Drop in and enjoy on your way to our exhibition spaces or stay for a ride in our unusually spacious lift.
6.30pm to 7.30pm Chalk & Sound: Girls Twiddling Knobs with Daisy Stewart-Darling (booking advised)
Catch an exclusive live recording of the celebrated Girls Twiddling Knobs podcast, founded and presented by musician and sound artist Isobel Anderson to highlight the work of women making music with technology. Isobel will be joined by sound artist Daisy Stewart-Darling.
6.30pm to 9.00pm Live Jazz at Light
Enjoy live jazz at Light with the Terry Pack Trio.
Band leader and bassist Terry Pack is joined by BAFTA award-winning pianist Joss Peach and guitarist Andy Williams. The trio is occasionally also joined by saxophonist Josephine Davies, winner of the 2019 Parliamentary Jazz Award for Best Instrumentalist. The restaurant is open until 10.00pm.
