Gothic Folklore: Life Drawing Salon with Art Macabre
Thursday 31 October, 6.30pm to 8.00pm
£15 (18+)
Make macabre marks and get sketching this Samhain! Take part in a theatrical life drawing salon with a deathly twist...
Take inspiration from a costumed model as they pose with props, projections and an atmospheric soundtrack to conjure up tales of forgotten folklore. During the session you will be guided through narration and storytelling, with the host suggesting materials and drawing prompts.
All levels of drawing confidence welcome and all materials provided (charcoal, pencils, oil pastels), but feel free to bring a favourite pen or sketchbook. No paints / wet materials, please. Drinks and snacks will be available to purchase from Towner's bar throughout the event.
Hosted by Originary Arts (originary.co.uk), a Brighton based arts company who believe that everyone can enjoy being creative given the right inspiration, tools and support. Originary Arts have held life drawing workshops at galleries, museums and festivals around the UK including Tate, National Gallery and Tower of London.
