Lunchtime Conversation: Are all responses to artworks valid?
1.30pm, free to attend

Does it matter whether our responses to artworks are different to the artists’ intentions?
Join two of the curators of Cruising the Collection, David Harris and John Manuell, for a 20-minute discussion about queer readings of artworks and hidden messages found in work by queer artists.
David and John will focus on three works from the exhibition – Reclining Boy by Kathleen Walne, Soldiers in Barracks by John Minton and The Swimmer by Tom Hammick, and you’ll also get an opportunity to ask questions and discuss your own thoughts.
This is a drop-in, free event for all.
Meet inside Gallery 1 on the first floor.
About the speakers
