Join Towner volunteer Andrew Forrest for a 20-minute discussion about Harold Swanwick’s Cuckmere Valley.
Expect insights into particular details within Swanwick’s painting, his inspiration for the work and the historical context it was created in.
During the discussion you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your own thoughts.
This is a drop-in, free event for all. Meet inside Gallery 1 on the first floor.
About Andrew Forrest
Andrew is a long-time volunteer at Towner and in 2012-2013 researched on the gallery's behalf a large quantity of art and memorabilia relating to the artist Harold Swanwick. This extensive archive covers material relating to Towner's own examples of Swanwick's work, but also his career more broadly.
Andrew is deeply interested in art history, especially that of the 19th and 20th centuries. He enjoys painting scenes of Paris at night, as well as the landscape of the Downs.
