Lunchtime Response: Movement session responding to Drawing the Unspeakable
Saturday 21 December, 1.30pm
Gallery 2 & 3 Free, with ticket admission
Explore your responses to Drawing the Unspeakable with Towner staff member Christian Bergmann.
For Christian the exhibition makes him think of two aspects in particular – the sacred and the unsettling. Are there feelings that are brought about for you?
You’ll be invited to silently move through the space as a group with the rest of the event attendees – once without stopping and the second time while choosing a work you’d like to look deeply at for a longer period of time to think about how it makes you feel.
Finally, in the drawing area outside the exhibition you can make your own drawing, representing the feelings you experience.
No special movement or sound skills required – everyone who wishes to can participate just as they are.
You are welcome to actively take part or just observe and listen.

About Christian Bergmann
Christian has been part of the Towner Front of House team since March 2020. When not at Towner, he is often found on Eastbourne beach, walking, resting, taking photos and video shorts. He is very interested in the interplay of spontaneous movement and stillness, both in nature and in human expression.
