From tomorrow, Towner is pleased to be able to share with you all the results of our completely revamped ground floor area, after many months of refurbishment.
Designed by British architects, Manalo & White, we have worked hard to create a brighter, more accessible and relaxing environment, perfect for socialising, browsing, shopping or quiet reflection.
Stop by this weekend to enjoy...
🔴 our incredibly spacious new foyer
🟠 comfy and colourful lobby seating
🟡 a welcoming and centrally-located information desk
🟢 our beautiful, new Shop, complete with custom-made cabinetry and dedicated display areas for postcards and limited edition prints
🔵 a ground-level café bar and new Cinema entrance
🟣 two re-fitted Studios, which will soon be brought to life with many performances, workshops, residencies and special events that you will be able to enjoy over the summer
We're also delighted to be able to usher in the next generation of Towner Cinema, now with regular evening screenings!
Towner Cinema re-opens its doors from tomorrow with an opening programme including The Duke, a delightful modern-day Ealing comedy, River, a cinematic and musical odyssey that explores the remarkable relationship between humans and rivers, and Operation Mincemeat, a stranger-than-fiction true story of the critical military deception that helped the Allies liberate wartime Sicily.
There are also a few weeks left to catch Jananne Al-Ani's ambitious moving image work, Timelines, and our other exhibitions, Bringing to Light: Jananne Al-Ani curates the Towner Collection, and Eileen Mayo: A Natural History.
So whether you're joining us for a quick coffee, or here for a solid few hours of gallery-going, we look forward to finally being able to welcome you all to our new-look home.
