Towner is looking for new Trustees
Posted on 01 July 2024Towner Eastbourne is a leading regional gallery located where the coast and South Downs meet. It has been collecting and exhibiting contemporary art for over 100 years. The Towner 100 celebratory programme, which included the Turner Prize 2023 drew over 200,000 visitors and generated over £16m in additional income to Eastbourne.
We are seeking new trustees to join our board as the gallery enters a new phase in its history and embarks on an ambitious project. Towner Seven Sisters, a new culture and education centre, will connect the town with the unique landscape of the surrounding Downs and Seven Sisters, bringing economic growth and access to nature for communities. With an exciting programme continuing at our Towner Eastbourne site, we are building the legacy of Turner Prize and Eastbourne ALIVE, the community engagement programme delivered alongside the exhibition.
This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with the region’s most dynamic cultural organisation. We are looking for a range of individuals, including those with lived experience of disability, who can bring different professional skills or a deep understanding of the challenges faced by our communities. A commitment to good governance and excellent communication skills are critical, along with a willingness to leverage networks and act as an ambassador on behalf of Towner.
If you are interested in joining us on this journey, please see full details in the Trustee pack below.
Closing date 11 August.
