Two new Trustees appointed to the Towner Board
Posted on 13 July 2022We’re delighted to be introducing two new Trustees to our Board, who will support us in shaping strategic direction as we enter an exciting period including our centenary year in 2023 and develop our ambitions to deliver greater outcomes for Eastbourne communities, particularly those most disadvantaged and underrepresented in art and cultural participation.
We welcome Catherine Wood who was recently appointed Director of Programme at Tate Modern after two decades of bringing performance and live art to the core of the London gallery’s programme. Catherine played a key role in the Uniqlo Tate Play programme which launched last year and has been a pioneer of curating for online audiences, initiating Tate’s first live-streamed performance programme in 2012.

We also welcome Josh Babarinde OBE, who was elected to Eastbourne Borough Council in May 2021, becoming the Council’s first councilor of Black heritage since it was established in 1859. Josh works closely with the local community through his contributions to social justice and social enterprise and is also a Trustee on the boards for The Funding Network and The Shackleton Foundation.

The full list of our Trustees can be seen on the Board of Trustees web page.
