BBC Introducing Surrey and Sussex at TOWNER

Towner and BBC Introducing Surrey and Sussex present an afternoon of music in celebration of Independent Venue Week 2026, the annual nationwide celebration of independent music and arts spaces across the UK. 

Hosted by BBC Introducing in Sussex & Surrey's Melita Dennett and showcasing acts supported by the show.

Featuring artists:

Calzy is a 20-year-old indie pop artist based in Eastbourne. Blending indie pop with hip hop influences, he has received multiple BBC Introducing airplays and has performed two BBC Live Lounge sessions in Brighton. Since 2024, Calzy has performed live with his band at festivals including Hastings Fat Tuesday, Compass Festival, and Minifest. He has also appeared at Under The Radar for BBC’s Melita Dennett and performed for BBC’s Callum French as part of the Future Sound Collective. 

Hastings-based vocalist & songwriter Kinsella delivers a sound that merges elements of R&B, hip-hop, soul, and drum and bass to create songs that promise to get stuck in your head. 

Championed by BBC Introducing along with numerous releases on dance-focused labels including ‘UKF’ and ‘Liquicity’. 

Trin the Beatmaker is an electronic beatmaker based in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Trin has a sharp ear for rhythm and melody, creating beats that move the culture. Trin has collaborated with some of the best UK underground artists and is known for intertwining his inspiration from his Caribbean roots to create his own unique fresh sound.  

Trin's work is regularly featured on BBC Introducing in Sussex & Surrey, hosted by Melita Dennett, where he has performed live sessions in the BBC Introducing Live Lounge alongside good friends & fellow artists Tuggy Fresh & DJ Jonny Jazz. With Tuggy Fresh’s intellectual yet catchy lyrics and the wizard Dj Jonny Jazz on the decks, they put on a great show live!
