Join author Melody Foreman and Carol Lockwood for an in-conversation event with publisher Steve Darlow about Melody's new non-fiction book, Love As Strong As Death: Ravilious, The Pilot & The Missing Aircraft (Available to buy in the gallery and online)
In Love as Strong as Death, Melody Foreman uncovers the story of two remarkable men – Flight Lieutenant Alfred ‘Ginge’ Culver DFM and Official War Artist Eric Ravilious – whose fates were sealed when their aircraft disappeared in the Second World War.
At once an intimate family history and a moving act of remembrance, this book honours their courage, celebrates their art and service, and pays tribute to a generation of children who never knew their fathers.
Steve Darlow of Fighting High Books hosts the conversation which will take place in the cinema, followed by audience questions and a book signing.
The conversation focuses will include Ravilious’s interest in the northern hemisphere (Iceland, Scotland, Antarctica) and Flight Lieutenant Alfred ‘Ginge’ Culver’s logbook, newly on display in The Ravilious Collection, lent by Carol Lockwood.
