Cecilia Fiona and Jennifer Higgie
Danish artist Cecila Fiona is joined by Jennifer Higgie, writer and host of five-part BBC Radio 3 essay Artists and the Spirit World.
Join artist Cecilia Fiona and writer Jennifer Higgie in-conversation on the occasion of Cecilia’s exhibition at Towner. Cecilia and Jennifer will discuss Cecilia’s exhibition and wider artistic practice. There will be 15 minutes at the end for audience questions.
Cecilia Fiona (b.1997) based in Copenhagen, Denmark works across sculpture, painting and performance developing an interconnected practice in which each medium extends and informs the other. Her performances embody the biomorphic forms that emerge within her paintings, while her sculptural works expand the landscapes and narratives she creates through her imagery.
Jennifer Higgie is an Australian writer who lives in London. Her recent books include Bedlam (2026), The Other Side: A Story of Women, Art and the Spirit World (2023) and The Mirror and the Palette: Rebellion, Revolution and Resilience: 500 Years of Women's Self-portraits (2021). Jennifer is the host of the National Gallery of Australia’s podcast, Artist’s Artists. Her five-part essay for BBC Radio 3, Artists and the Spirit World, is available on BBC iplayer.
