We're celebrating the creativity of our participants with an open studio and making an invitation this weekend!
Across the Summer holidays, artist Daisy Stewart-Darling has been inviting young people with additional support needs and their families to create a living, ever-growing reef, taking over our ground floor studio. We've been exploring multi-sensory routes into themes including the ecology of East Sussex, creativity, play and child-led exploration.
Daisy has been supported throughout the project by practitioners Anne-Marie Watson, Phoebe Wingrove and Sam Ayre alongside Towner's Learning team.
Over the final weekend of the summer holidays, we're inviting the public to view and add to their reef with recycled and found materials, adding to our expanding ecosystem.
Activities are self-led, free and open to all ages.

About Daisy Stewart-Darling
Daisy Stewart-Darling (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist based in the UK, working primarily with sound and print. Her practice centres on accessible sound art installations that explore sound ecology in relation to climate justice, often blending field recordings, interactive formats, and community engagement.
Working under the pseudonym Daisy Does Lino, Daisy is a self-taught linocut printmaker whose visual work intersects with her sonic explorations. Recent projects have involved using linoleum both as a visual element and as a physical interface for sound, drawing attention to its ecological production and material history.
She has exhibited in multiple group shows at Electro Studios Project Space (2021-2024, St Leonards-on-Sea) and De La Warr Pavilion Lates (2023, Bexhill), and was selected for the 2024 Artist in Residence with The Living Coast UNESCO Biosphere in Brighton.
Alongside her installation practice, Daisy has run mindful printmaking workshops within her Hastings home community and composes experimental sound pieces from field recordings gathered during walks and nature explorations.
