Mermaid Chunky. The danceable, costumed, curiosity rich duo of artists Freya Tate and Moina Moin are as imaginative as they profess. Or, to get more to the point, as we all need them to be.
Freya and Moina are two visual artists and musicians from Stroud and South London who have steadily bewitched more and more villages, towns and cities with their blend of funky and pastoral electronica, sculpture visuals and colourful entourage. This is a party, a collective dance, made all the better with more: people, ideas, layers, kick drums, recorders, saxophones, frogs.
“Stunning.” – Clash
“A beautifully ritualistic trance.” - The Guardian
Based in Hastings, up-and-coming singer-songwriter Elisha Edwards’s rich, soulful tones and enthralling stage presence pull you in and refuse to let go.
Weaving together soul, jazz, and R&B into her original music, Elisha draws straight from her inner world — writing with raw authenticity and vulnerability.
Liz Overs is a songwriter and singer of traditional folk. She’ll be performing with guitarist David Tomlins, including traditional songs with a local history.
Liz presented Mostly Folk for five years, a monthly radio show with a focus on the traditions, social history, folklore and folk music of Sussex. She sang for Dylan Howitt's award winning The Nettle Dress documentary, opening at key UK screenings and is a Downland walks leader.
Her solo album Nightjar was made with Neill MacColl, Ben Nicholls and David Tomlins. It came out last year. The Observer (Neil Spencer) described it as ‘a shimmering debut rich in folklore.’ MOJO ****
