A guided walk and drawing course exploring new ways to find visual inspiration and techniques for working on found materials, such as blinds and tarpaulin.
The workshop will begin with a walk led by Brewers Towner International exhibiting artist Edward Liddle to collect visual material in the area directly surrounding Towner.
Back at Towner, Edward will lead a series of drawing exercises building on the visual ideas found outdoors. You’ll be guided through experimenting on different textured surfaces and come away with lots of drawings and equipped with strategies for creating your own visual language.
This workshop is suitable for those wishing to develop their drawing and open to beginners or those already working in drawing and painting.
About Edward Liddle
Edward Liddle’s artistic practice is concerned with the re-interpretation of motifs. Some motifs are derived from found architectural objects such as tiles, scraps of wallpaper or remnants of fabric.
Through the process of drawing and painting, found motifs are transformed into painterly sculptural works, encouraging viewers to re-evaluate their relationship to the things found in everyday life.
£60 per person General / £50 Concessions
