In 1939 the Artist International Association set out to do for artists what the Penguin paperback was doing for writers: to make original prints available to all at affordable prices. In 1940, 52 Everyman Prints were published 'intended for every home' forming a distinct and unique record of Britain’s transition from peace to phoney war.
