Introducing Lunchtime Responses: a new series of events where members of the Towner team invite you to a conversation in the gallery.
You’ll hear new perspectives, unique takes and personal stories about the varied works in the Towner Collection.
Join Towner conservator, Corinne Farmer, for a 20-minute discussion about the care and conservation of two works – one contemporary sculpture, the other a painting from the 1940s – in the exhibition Unseen.
Expect insights into the investigation of the two very different artworks, Michael Rakowitz’s April is the cruellest month and a self portrait by Ronald Horton, which required a variety of conservation techniques and interventions.
During the talk you’ll be able to view images of the works before they were conserved and ask questions.
This is a drop-in, free event for all.
Meet inside Gallery 2 on the second floor.
