HAF: A World We Can Live In
July to August 2024
Supported by the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, Towner has provided creative artist-led activities including performance, installations, mark-making, food and collaboration for children and young people eligible for Free School Meals.
Towner hosted six open and four SEN (Special Educational Needs) sessions across the six-week summer break, inviting over 180 young people to take over our studio spaces.
Lead by artist Sam Ayre, participants explored the themes of A World We Can Live In.
What would it look like?
Who or what would live there?
What would grow there?
What would we eat?
Who would we invite into a world of our creation?
Over the penultimate weekend participants invited the public to view and add to their collective studio practice and create their own world.
Sessions were supported by Anne-Marie Watson, Phoebe Wingrove, Elle Batehup and Towner’s Learning team.
These activities are supported and funded by the HAF Programme (East Sussex County Council) through the Department of Education.
